The Antica Torre Tornabuoni 1 history is rooted in that tough moment when the Guelfi and Ghibellini fought to gain the power over Florence. In 1300 the tower became the residence of the prestigious Gianfigliazzi family, a dynasty of warriors and statesmen whose stories are so intertwined with the public life of Florence that even the Divine Comedy speaks of them. In modern times the Antica Torre Tornabuoni 1 became the preferred address for literates, artists and travellers who wanted to plunge themselves in the Italian culture and dolce vita.

On the luxury terrace overlooking the Duomo in Florence, there is a charming winter garden that hosts a hidden treasure: a restaurant with only 16 seats, reserved to the guests of the Antica Torre. Every day the chef studies a new menu, personally selecting the best seasonal ingredients at the Sant’Ambrogio market in Florence. Simple flavours, but never predictable, turn the evening into an unforgettable experience. Visitors can take the chance to learn from the mixologists how to prepare their favourite cocktail.

The panoramic breakfast terrace offers a fabulous view. The guests can enjoy delicious local and organic products while looking at the Arno, the Santa Trinita Bridge and Via Maggio, the church of San Miniato al Monte, Forte Belvedere and the Bellosguardo hill. The sound salon inside envelops visitors with perfectly defined sounds, for the best musical experiences.

With only 24 luxury rooms and one spacious apartment, you are guaranteed special attention during your stay here during your trip to Italy.

Each luxury room is different and all the interiors evoke the ancient Tuscan tradition. Colours and decorations on the walls are inspired by the great masters like Agnolo Gaddi, Giotto, Beato Angelico, Ambrogio Lorenzetti. Every single item has been thought, made and chosen to respect the Renaissance ideal of harmony and beauty.

The rooms can be adapted to individual needs: large families, for example, may have interconnecting rooms to create their own space inside the building.
